FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where can I park?

There is parking at the front and rear of the building, and on the side along the chain-link fence, except for spots labeled for the photography studio. You can also park along the other side of the chain link fence after 6:00 pm and on Saturdays, when our neighbors have gone home for the day. Please do not park in the apartment lot next door to the east. Street parking is available a short walk away on Grandview Ave and also on Seventh Ave just behind the studio.  If you are up for a stroll, we are just a few blocks from the main strip in the heart of Grandview.

What should I wear? What do I need to bring to class?

Comfortable, form-fitting clothing you can move in are best for yoga. You will want to bring your mat, towel, and a bottle of water.  If you left home without your gear or you’re in town visiting, come on in anyways.  We have a few loaner mats and will make sure you will have everything you will need.  We have plenty of props, too.  You can change in our restrooms located in the common area just outside the studio doors.

What if I am new to yoga?

While all of our classes are suitable for all levels, we strongly recommend our Foundations of Vinyasa for Beginners class on Monday evenings at 7:15 pm. We want your experience at Vital Vinyasa to be positive and safe, and this is a really good way to become familiar with breathing patterns, connected movement, and mindfulness that will prepare you for all of the wonderful things that yoga can bring to your life!

What if am pregnant, have a health concern, or an injury?

Please, please, please check with your physician to determine if yoga is appropriate for you.  They can advise you of techniques and movements to avoid. Also, be sure to let your instructor know ahead of time about any health concerns and/or restrictions so that she/he can be aware. We encourage you to modify or even skip certain poses depending on your situation and comfort level.

Can I bring my child to class? What is your policy on kids and yoga?

We think it is great to orient young people toward healthy lifestyle options. While we do not yet offer classes designed for children, tweens, and teens, we plan to do so in the future. In the meantime, we encourage you as a parent to determine whether your child, of at least 12 years of age, is mature enough to attend a yoga class.  Our classes are presently designed for adults and we are very determined to make each class a safe and positive experience for all of our members.  If you are comfortable with bringing your minor child, we will request that you sign a separate waiver.
